Working with Charley Hutton and Detroit Ad Agency Worden and Company on Paint Manufacturers PPG

We just got the final layouts for Paint Manufacturer PPG with American Hot Rod's own Charley Hutton.  Quite a honor working with TJon at Worden and Company Ad Agency out of Detroit on the project.

You probably recognize Charley from Boyd Coddington's shop on the TV show American Hot Rod.  What a talent.  His customs are unbelievable.

Shooting glass.

We have been having a blast at the studio shooting new footage for our show reel.  That's the new rig Matt built.  Works great.  Smooth as glass and inexpensive to construct.  Downhill skateboard trucks and wheels and a piece of Detroit Iron.

Here, we are having some fun with glass, one of our favorites.  We are really getting super comfortable with motion.  The possibilities are endless and working out complex visual challenges is what gets us up in the morning and keeps us at night.

We are starting to work on some boards for a couple some short films that should be in production soon.  For now we are kicking the tires and seeing how far we can push our shooting skills, lighting schemes and editing.   We aren't getting much sleep.  Hope to be posting soon.

Business Insider Love

I want to thank Katy Moeller and the gang at the Idaho Statesman, along with Brad Larrondo, Sherise Jones, Billy Michell, Red SkyPR and Nick Sheneck, for helping with our story in this weeks  Business Insider.  I am feeling a lot of love out there and I really, really, super appreciate it.

It's very humbling and quite a honor to have a story written about the studio.  Katy did a incredibly thorough job and spent a lot of time with Jim and I understanding exactly what we do.   It is a rare opportunity to have a forum of this kind to let the folks out there know what we are all about, what we believe in and the immense amount of passion we have for the images created at TDG.

I also want to thank all the clients past and present that gave us shot, had faith and allowed us to collaborate with them.  I appreciate you all.

So appreciated.

I was just notified that the Photo District News "Shot Sports" Awards have been posted on the PDN website.   We are so stoked to have garnered 2 of these awards.   Seeing the incredible level of international photographers, agencies and campaigns that were represented makes it even sweeter.

Thanks to the Idaho Steelheads, and Greg Poe for all their support.

The formatable team of Matt Hagler and Tracy Watts.

Another couple of examples of the incredible talent of TDG's Matt Hagler and Tracy Watts, working with some glass for Epionce.  I bow in their presence.

Steelheads Hockey Poster No. 4

Got the 4th Steelheads Hockey poster delivered and the boys at the B of A center said it was a huge hit, which makes us smile.  Really smile.  The guys at the rink have been tremendous to work with.  Letting us do our thing.  Mark Derlago and Kael Mouillierat were great sports.

Other than Jessie in the first poster, nobody else has been seriously injured.  Hockey is really one of the great spectator sports and the Steelheads put on a killer show.

Some new imagery.

Finally have a moment to post some new images we have been working on the last couple of weeks.  We just delivered the new "Onions On Demand" image for the Idaho-Eastern Oregon Onion Committee.  Working with the amazing Sherise Jones is always a pleasure.  No kidding.  She rocks it every time. Extremely creative and an incredible collaborator.  Always a pleasure.

You might recognize Hall of Fame Quarterback Bart Hendicks in the shot as well.  Always fun working with him.  Nailed the concept.

Close to getting a Darwin Award

We had a blast working on a new ad campaign today.  Things got a bit out of hand with the creativity.   "I am not sure if it will work, but let's try it." was the mantra.

Thankfully, no coagulant needed to be administered.  The images should be done in a week or so and we will post them, then.   We thinking these are going to be pretty twisted.

iPhone Pano "The best camera is the one you are holding".

I was out in the desert shooting some background images for a new campaign we are working on.  It was one of those drama filled nights.  Blustery giant clouds, stark winter landscape and a empty road.  Perfect opportunity to shoot my new 360 app.

Here is the results of my first 360 pano.  Pretty amazing considering the app cost $1.99.  As the iPhone develops it continues to blow the doors off of what is visually possible to create and share.  More to come.

So stoked, so honored.

I was so stoked to come into the studio this morning and see the Feb 2011 edition of Photo District News Magazine, featuring the Shot Sports Competition.  We took first place for "On the Court" and Finalist for "In the Sky".  Looking at the other international photographers and work in the competition makes it even more humbling.  It is such a great honor I can't even tell you.

I want to thank Jim, Matt, Nick, Greg Poe and the crew at the Idaho Steelheads.  This belongs to all of us.  Great way to start off 2011!

Special thanks to the folks at Photo District News and the judges for making this happen.

Really excited to announce that Tri-Digital Group has expanded it's offering with a Motion Dept.  The Motion Dept has partnered with Hollywood Director and AVID editor Brett Smith. The new spot here was created for the Idaho Steelheads.  Brett brings huge experience not only in directing TV commercials, music videos but is the editor behind many major studio movie trailers.  We will be posting more of his work here and on our TDG site.
