Morrison Center

Shot some back plates for a assignment with the Philharmonic last night at the Morrison Center.  Deep in  post with the composite.  Gonna be a wild campaign. 

Jeret "Speedy" Peterson in the house

We had a great time the last couple of days working with Olympic Silver Medalist Jeret "Speedy" Peterson on a new still and motion campaign, with Sherise Jones.  Our director, Brett Smith, was here creating the motion spots, along with Matt Hagler, Tracy Watts, and Kodi.   We shot a pretty heavy 2 day schedule and Jeret was incredible.  Greatest guy you will meet.  I want to throw a shout out his way for his great attitude, talent and friendship.

Everything is in post and should have some neat stuff to share shortly.

The incomparable Robert Franz

I had a once in a lifetime experience today. The incredible Philharmonic conductor Robert Franz, conducting in our studio for over an hour. He was 8ft. away from me while I photographed his amazing mesmerizing performance.

The emotion, passion, and delicacy of his art was truly jaw dropping. Thank you, thank you photo gods. I promise to be good.

Images should be out in a few weeks.

I am going out on a limb here by saying I LOVE working in Cabo.

Resort Images from Cabo San Lucas

We have been slammed at the studio since I got back from Cabo and I have just started working on some images I created there.  I did a ton of work and I am excited to get some of these new images out.  Stay tuned, more to come.

Cabo

Just got back from a really great trip in Cabo San Lucas.  Seven days of pounding surf, 80 degree weather,  infinity pools and bueno fish tacos.

As you can imagine the photo opportunities were abundant.  The iphone got a workout along with the new Nikon.

MPPA

I really had a exceptional time in Missoula speaking at MPPA this weekend.  A remarkable group of very, very talented photographers.  Saw some old friends as well.  Shout out to Spiro Nichols of Nichols lab.  Super great to see him again.

Met a lot of new friends, spread some love and learned how much I don't know about Photoshop and Lightroom from the incredible Julieanne Kost from Adobe.  She really opened my eyes to so many things that are going on deep within the Adobe World.  You need to check out her site.  She is amazing.

Special thanks to Scott Breum and Heather Martin for showing me such a great time in Missoula.  You rock it.

Just arrived in the awesome city of Missoula for a talk to the MPPA on commercial photography.  Everyone here has been so great.  Special thanks to Scott Breum and Heather for making me feel at home.

Incredible Chandlers

I just finished a series of images for the incredible Chandlers Steak House.  One of the premier chop houses in the Northwest. Really.  One of the best steaks I have ever eaten can be found here.   A indulgent decor and great urban vibe only add to this amazing dining experience.

The Fabulous Barbacoa

We just finished a series of images for the immensely popular Barbacoa Restaurant.  With a eclectic mixture of Spanish, Indonesia, and American influences, it is truly visual wonder.  Not to mention the incredible menu and outstanding service.

Working with Charley Hutton and Detroit Ad Agency Worden and Company on Paint Manufacturers PPG

We just got the final layouts for Paint Manufacturer PPG with American Hot Rod's own Charley Hutton.  Quite a honor working with TJon at Worden and Company Ad Agency out of Detroit on the project. 

You probably recognize Charley from Boyd Coddington's shop on the TV show American Hot Rod.  What a talent.  His customs are unbelievable.

World Champion Wyatt Smith

The new campaign for Project Filter we have been working on for the past month is ready to hit the streets.   The folks at PF kindly gave us permission to post some of the images.  This one is of World Champ Wyatt Smith.  It has been a really great collaboration with Project Filter.  Incredible creative team there.

We'll be letting more "out of the chute" in the following days and weeks.  Stay tuned.

Shooting glass.

We have been having a blast at the studio shooting new footage for our show reel.  That's the new rig Matt built.  Works great.  Smooth as glass and inexpensive to construct.  Downhill skateboard trucks and wheels and a piece of Detroit Iron.

Here, we are having some fun with glass, one of our favorites.  We are really getting super comfortable with motion.  The possibilities are endless and working out complex visual challenges is what gets us up in the morning and keeps us at night.  

We are starting to work on some boards for a couple some short films that should be in production soon.  For now we are kicking the tires and seeing how far we can push our shooting skills, lighting schemes and editing.   We aren't getting much sleep.  Hope to be posting soon.

Business Insider Love

I want to thank Katy Moeller and the gang at the Idaho Statesman, along with Brad Larrondo, Sherise Jones, Billy Michell, Red SkyPR and Nick Sheneck, for helping with our story in this weeks  Business Insider.  I am feeling a lot of love out there and I really, really, super appreciate it.

It's very humbling and quite a honor to have a story written about the studio.  Katy did a incredibly thorough job and spent a lot of time with Jim and I understanding exactly what we do.   It is a rare opportunity to have a forum of this kind to let the folks out there know what we are all about, what we believe in and the immense amount of passion we have for the images created at TDG.

I also want to thank all the clients past and present that gave us shot, had faith and allowed us to collaborate with them.  I appreciate you all.

I was just notified that the Photo District News "Shot Sports" Awards have been posted on the PDN website.   We are so stoked to have garnered 2 of these awards.   Seeing the incredible level of international photographers, agencies and campaigns that were represented makes it even sweeter.

Project Filter

Had a tremendous experience working the the crew at Project Filter and their race cars and drivers.  We are done shooting the stills for the new campaign and are deep in post.  Working with the incredible creatives, Jack, Trevor, Jean and Ivy and the  riders and drivers has been a blast. 

Press time is fast approaching and I will post the final images when they are released.  Gonna be cool.
